Officers & Board Delegates

President

The president shall preside at the State Conference and at meetings of the State Board and Executive Committee (the decision-making group for Minnesota NOW between State Board Meetings). The president shall serve as the spokesperson for Minnesota NOW and the chair of the Communications Committee. More information on the duties of the President is available in the position description.

Vice President

The vice president shall perform the duties of president in the absence of the president; shall be the chief assistant to the president; and shall perform such other duties as are assigned by the State Board. The vice president is also a member of the Executive Committee, and chairs the Action Committee. More information on the duties of the Vice President is available in the position description.

Treasurer

The treasurer shall be the custodian of all State funds and shall make disbursements of funds as directed by the State Board, president, Executive Committee, or the State Conference. The treasurer is also a member of the Executive Committee, and chairs the Sustainability Committee. More information on the duties of the Treasurer is available in the position description.

Secretary

The secretary is responsible for taking minutes at the State Conference, as well as meetings of the State Board, Executive Committee, and Communications Committee. They are a member of the Executive Committee, and sit on the Communications Committee. More information on the duties of the Secretary is available in the position description.

Legislative Coordinator

The legislative coordinator shall prepare a legislative platform to be discussed and voted upon at the State Conference. They shall coordinate all legislative and lobbying activities of the organization and shall keep state and chapter leadership informed of legislative issues and actions. The legislative coordinator is a member of the Executive Committee and the Action Committee. More information on the duties of the Legislative Coordinator is available in the position description.

Operations Coordinator

The operations coordinator is responsible for keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes. The operations coordinator is a member of the Executive Committee and the Sustainability Committee. More information on the duties of the Operations Coordinator is available in the position description.

All officers are responsible for checking their respective email addresses on a regular basis and adding events and meetings to the website calendar. All officers shall serve on an issue committee (aligned with MN NOW’s six core issues) of their choice.

Board Delegate

Delegates Serve on Minnesota NOW State Board

The State Board is responsible for ensuring the financial health of Minnesota NOW and implementing the mission, vision, and policies of Minnesota NOW as determined by the State Conference. The State Board may adopt standing rules and procedures. Actions taken by the State Board shall not be in opposition to, or in modification of, the purpose or policy of the organization as set forth by the State or National Conference.
