Minnesota residents who join NOW are automatically members of National and Minnesota NOW. One can be an “at-large” member of Minnesota NOW without being a member of a local chapter. You may also choose to join a local chapter at any time at no additional cost.
Once NOW takes a position on an issue, much of the action takes place at the local chapter level. Minnesota NOW encourages joining a local chapter to increase involvement and interaction of its members.
Local chapters are active throughout the state. Current chapters include: Fergus Falls Area NOW, Minnesota Valley NOW (south metro area, Prior Lake, Shakopee), MSP NOW (metro area chapter), Sherburne-Wright NOW (2 counties NW of the Twin Cities), and South Central MN NOW (Mankato area). Although we have active members in the Duluth and Rochester areas, there are currently no formal chapters.
MSP NOW also launched a podcast in 2020, Renegade Feminist, which dives into Minnesota politics – with a feminist lean. The podcast focuses on making local politics accessible, connecting with female and non-binary folks putting in the work, and laughing along the way.
