I ask you, good Minnesotans: how can we stand by and let the folks in Iowa (IOWA!) brag that they have more progressive marriage laws than we do? We can’t. The landmark Iowa ruling that overturned the state’s ban on same-sex marriage came about only when Iowa couples took a stand and demanded their day in court.
The group Marry Me Minnesota consists of three couples who are raising money to sue for their right to civil marriage in Minnesota. They recently announced a $10,000 matching grant challenge to encourage fair-minded Minnesotans to lend their financial support to the cause….and to catch up with Iowa.
