Solidarity Day 2018

Every year on Good Friday, thousands of anti-Planned Parenthood protesters descend on the Planned Parenthood clinic at Vandalia Street in St. Paul. This is your chance to show up, speak up, and stand up for the patients that count on Planned Parenthood. Join Planned Parenthood supporters beginning at 10 a.m. for a peaceful counter protest to make sure everyone knows that Planned Parenthood is here for good.

ARRIVAL → Enter the event at the corner of Pillsbury Street and Charles Avenue

Attendees will be required to enter the event space at the corner of Pillsbury and Charles, just North of University Avenue. Please stay off of Vandalia Street. This allows our patients to enter the clinic without interference.

We have a strict non-engagement policy with protesters. Focus on what matters most—Planned Parenthood patients—and do not engage with opposition. Please follow all laws and law enforcement directions for safety and security, especially in event of emergency. Please do not block sidewalk or street traffic. Please do not bring items that could be interpreted as weapons or anything that is illegal. Bring small bags or as few bags as possible — backpacks are not allowed. While at the event, if you see any suspicious items or violations of the non-engagement policy, please notify security staff immediately.

BE PREPARED

This event is outdoors and involves standing, walking, and marching, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes and warm clothing. Show off your love for Planned Parenthood and wear as much pink as you’d like.

SIGNS

Planned Parenthood will provide signs. You may bring your own signs, but please note that signs on poles or plastic pipes and signs containing profanity or vulgar messages are prohibited. You are encouraged to consider intersectional and inclusive messages on your signs. Remember, Planned Parenthood works to provide sexual and reproductive health care for ALL.

TRANSPORTATION

The clinic is accessible via the Green Line as well as 16 and 87 bus routes. We recommend you take public transportation, ride your bike, or carpool, as parking is unavailable in our ramp. Extremely limited parking may be available on Hampden, Carleton, Raymond and other nearby streets. Please be respectful of our neighbors and follow all laws.
