How do we make sense of the history of the United States? How do we place ourselves in this history? How do we understand the place of others in our shared history?

Introduction to The Rebellious Life of Rosa Parks (provided to those who register)
We will use the reading to explore US history and the myths we hold about some of our national figures. We’ll ask the question: How do we look at history to understand diverse perspectives and use this knowledge to take action in our world? It is not necessary to read the introduction before you come – a synopsis will be given.
