SUMMARY:Celebrate Women's Equality Day with MNNOW's Endorsed Candidates!
DESCRIPTION:On behalf of our new MN NOW President\, Mariquita Anderson\, and our new Vice President\, Kathleen Murphy\, and the MN NOW PAC\, we are hosting a fundraiser in recognition of the candidates that uphold the core feminist issues of NOW. \nYou may be aware that August 26th is the ACTUAL 100th Anniversary of the final ratification of the 19th Amendment that allowed women across the nation to finally be able to VOTE. We at MN NOW would like to recognize that date with our endorsed candidates. \nPlease join us either IN PERSON (in an extremely spacious backyard with social distancing and masks enforced) OR virtually if you cannot make it to Saint Paul. \nIf you are in greater Minnesota or unable to attend in person (don’t worry\, we get it)\, we hope you’ll be able to join us on Zoom. \nWe will be encouraging attendees to contribute directly to the candidates as well as to our PAC\, which we will distribute all funds raised that evening evenly to all of our candidates. \nAll are welcome! \nAnd if you’d like to stick around for the national ERA Zoom event at 7pm\, we will be airing that in the backyard too!

SUMMARY:Solidarity Day 2018
DESCRIPTION:Every year on Good Friday\, thousands of anti-Planned Parenthood protesters descend on the Planned Parenthood clinic at Vandalia Street in St. Paul. This is your chance to show up\, speak up\, and stand up for the patients that count on Planned Parenthood. Join Planned Parenthood supporters beginning at 10 a.m. for a peaceful counter protest to make sure everyone knows that Planned Parenthood is here for good. \nARRIVAL → Enter the event at the corner of Pillsbury Street and Charles Avenue \nAttendees will be required to enter the event space at the corner of Pillsbury and Charles\, just North of University Avenue. Please stay off of Vandalia Street. This allows our patients to enter the clinic without interference. \nSECURITY → http://bit.ly/nonengagement \nWe have a strict non-engagement policy with protesters. Focus on what matters most—Planned Parenthood patients—and do not engage with opposition. Please follow all laws and law enforcement directions for safety and security\, especially in event of emergency. Please do not block sidewalk or street traffic. Please do not bring items that could be interpreted as weapons or anything that is illegal. Bring small bags or as few bags as possible — backpacks are not allowed. While at the event\, if you see any suspicious items or violations of the non-engagement policy\, please notify security staff immediately. \nBE PREPARED \nThis event is outdoors and involves standing\, walking\, and marching\, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes and warm clothing. Show off your love for Planned Parenthood and wear as much pink as you’d like. \nSIGNS \nPlanned Parenthood will provide signs. You may bring your own signs\, but please note that signs on poles or plastic pipes and signs containing profanity or vulgar messages are prohibited. You are encouraged to consider intersectional and inclusive messages on your signs. Remember\, Planned Parenthood works to provide sexual and reproductive health care for ALL. \nTRANSPORTATION \nThe clinic is accessible via the Green Line as well as 16 and 87 bus routes. We recommend you take public transportation\, ride your bike\, or carpool\, as parking is unavailable in our ramp. Extremely limited parking may be available on Hampden\, Carleton\, Raymond and other nearby streets. Please be respectful of our neighbors and follow all laws.\n \n

SUMMARY:Our Justice Bowl-A-Thon
DESCRIPTION:The 2017 Bowl-A-Thon was the most successful in the history of Our Justice (formerly Pro-Choice Resources). Thanks to all you amazing bowler & captains\, to the powerful communities of donors that support you\, and our wonderful sponsors we were able to raise over $135\,000! Your commitment to abortion care access and to ending reproductive oppression is beyond inspiring\, and is foundational to all the work we are able to accomplish at Our Justice. \nLast year going into the Bowl-A-Thon\, we as a community clearly saw the oncoming wave of oppression bent on taking away access to birth control\, abortion care\, healthcare\, social services for families\, protections for LGBTQAI folks\, and so many other hard earned rights and freedoms. \nThroughout 2017 we resisted\, and we fought hard to support each other when oppression turned it’s gaze on us\, our loved ones\, and our communities. We also saw a surge of pro-active legislation introduced and passed to protect abortion access\, and we saw the power of movements like#MeToo. Many people are calling for 2018 to be the year of action\, and at Our Justice we are all in. Let’s start this year of action off right and call our communities together to support access to abortion care\, to lift up Reproductive Justice\, and to continue our commitment to ending Reproductive Oppression. \nShow your support today by joining Minnesota NOW’s team – The Split Decisions – as we defend access to healthcare\, keep clinics open\, and champion humanity’s right to freedom and autonomy! Contributions of any amount are greatly appreciated and support vital healthcare services in Minnesota and throughout the Midwest.

SUMMARY:Born After Roe: Stories from the Intersection
DESCRIPTION:Join Born After Roe and Planned Parenthood Minnesota Advocate for Stories from the Intersection: How Race\, Immigration\, and Trans Rights Intersect with Reproductive Freedom. \nWe know that policies about reproductive health and rights don’t just live in our lawbooks. They live in real people’s bodies and experiences. And people are not one-dimensional. The ability to access reproductive health care can be affected by your zip code\, socioeconomic status\, immigration status\, race\, gender identity\, and so much more. \nRepresentatives from Navigate MN\, ACLU of Minnesota\, and the Trans Health Leadership Program at Planned Parenthood Minnesota Advocate will join us to discuss how reproductive health and freedom intersects with immigration rights\, racial justice\, and transgender health and rights. We will hear stories of how people’s reproductive health have been affected by their access to power and privilege and learn what we can do to fight for the rights and health of all.
